General Infection Care
Detoxifying the Body by Opening the Skin
The skin plays a crucial role in detoxification, but soaps, lotions, and environmental toxins can clog pores and hinder this process. The first step in addressing any infection—whether an ear infection or a general cold—is to open up the skin to support the body’s natural detoxification.
How to Open the Skin for Detoxification:
- Apply Fresh Lemon:
- Take the cut side of a fresh lemon (a natural astringent) and rub it directly onto the skin, covering the entire body. This helps open the pores and remove buildup.
- Take a Warm Epsom Salt Bath:
- Fill a bathtub with water as warm as you can comfortably tolerate.
- Add a handful of Epsom salt to the water and soak for at least 15–20 minutes. This further relaxes muscles, promotes sweating, and aids detoxification.
- Hydrate with a Hot Beverage:
- While in the bath—or immediately after—drink a warm beverage (as hot as tolerable) as quickly as possible.
- This helps raise the body’s internal temperature, encouraging sweating and immune response activation.
How This Helps the Body Fight Infection
- Raising the body’s core temperature naturally enhances the immune response, helping the body combat infections more effectively.
- In many cases, this process can help lower a fever (as long as the fever is not dangerously high). Since fever is the body’s natural defense mechanism, it makes sense to support the body’s healing process rather than immediately suppress it with medication.
- If necessary, medication can be used as a secondary option if the fever remains high or symptoms persist.
Flu Care

Bowel Cleansing for Flu & Infection Support
Follow the general infection protocol outlined above, and incorporate the following bowel cleansing steps. In many cases, the flu virus settles in the colon, making it essential to flush the bowels to help remove the infection. This should be done even if diarrhea is already present, as the body may still need assistance in fully clearing out the virus and toxins.
- Prepare the Enema:
- Empty the contents of a standard enema bottle (never use laxatives).
- Refill it with regular water and one teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice (avoid concentrate).
- Administer & Retain:
- Take the full contents of the enema rectally.
- Hold for at least 5 minutes before evacuating to allow the solution to work effectively.
- Hydrate:
- Drink plenty of water throughout the process to support detoxification and prevent dehydration.
By ensuring the colon is fully flushed, you can help accelerate recovery and reduce viral load, giving the body the best chance to heal.
General Hay Fever-Type Allergies

Try taking a digestive enzyme aid as directed by healthcare professional. An example of this would be Hypo-D from Nutri-West.
Vitamin D

Our bodies can store 2–3 months’ worth of natural vitamin D, but during the winter months, it’s essential to supplement with Vitamin D3.
To naturally produce vitamin D from sunlight, you need to be below the 35th parallel—roughly south of cities like Atlanta, Georgia, or Los Angeles, California—where the sun’s rays are strong enough to trigger synthesis even in winter. What a great excuse—the sun moves south, and so should you!
For most people, supplementing 5,000–10,000 IU (125–250 mcg) of Vitamin D3 during winter is beneficial. However, the best way to determine your individual needs is through a vitamin D lab test.
If given the option, I prefer testing 1,25 Dihydroxycalciferol, as it provides a more detailed measure of active vitamin D levels.
Complete Hi D3 from Nutri-West is a great option to keep your Vitamin D3 level in an optimal range!
Gerd/Heart Burn

Many times, this condition is mistakenly treated as excess stomach acid, leading to treatments that focus on blocking acid production. However, long-term use of these medications can cause nutrient deficiencies, increased infection risk, and digestive issues.
In many cases, the real cause is gut irritation from certain foods, hidden infections, or nutritional deficiencies that disrupt the body’s ability to regulate acid production and digestion properly.
Aches & Pains

The best home remedy for common discomforts—whether it’s a headache, sore joint, or general pain—is a cold, wet towel.
How to Use a Cold Wet Towel for Pain Relief:
- Soak a towel in the coldest tap water available.
- Fold the towel and place it directly on the affected area for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, re-wet the towel with cold water and reapply for another 20 minutes.
- Repeat as often as needed, but aim for a minimum of 40 consecutive minutes for best results.
Using Ice Instead of a Cold Wet Towel:
If using ice, follow this cycle:
- Apply ice to the affected area for 10 minutes.
- Remove the ice for 10 minutes to allow circulation to return.
- Reapply ice for another 10 minutes.
- Wait one hour, then repeat the cycle if needed.
The goal of both methods is to stimulate circulation, bringing fresh blood and nutrients to the area to accelerate healing.
Cancer

The ketogenic diet can be a useful tool, but it is not recommended for long-term use.
Cancer cells are anaerobic, meaning they thrive in low-oxygen environments and rely on glucose (sugar) as their primary fuel source. Reducing glucose intake may help limit their energy supply. Additionally, because cancer cells lose their ability to self-regulate (apoptosis) in oxygen-deficient conditions, increasing oxygen levels in the body can be beneficial.
This underscores the importance of regular exercise and certain oxygen-based therapies in promoting overall health.
