Open up the skin so the body can detoxify. Soaps and lotions as well as everything else we are exposed to, tend to clog up our pores. The first step to do with any infection, from the ears to a general cold, is to open up the skin. In order to do this, take the cut side of a fresh lemon (natural detergent) and rub all over the entire body, directly on the skin. This will open up the pores. Next, get in a bathtub full of water, as warm as the person can stand, along with a handful of Epsom Salt #ad added to the water. While in the tub or directly after being in the tub, drink as warm as you can tolerate, of any beverage you like, as quickly, as you can. The idea is to raise the internal temperature to help fight off the infection as well as sweat and detoxify. Many times, this will actually bring down a fever (as long as the fever is not at an already dangerously high level) because the body is raising its temperature to try and kill off the infection. Does it not make sense to help the body try to accomplish its goal in a short-term way instead of hold it back by fighting the fever with meds?? Medication can be used secondarily if unsuccessful.
Use the above general infection protocol, and add in the below bowel cleansing steps. Most of the time the "flu virus" settles and lives in the colon. Despite possibly having diarrhea already, the bowel needs to be flushed to help rid the bowel of this infection. Dump out the normal contents of an Enema (never use laxatives) and replace with regular water and one teaspoon of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (not from concentrate). Take all the contents of the enema rectally and try to hold in for at least 5 minutes before evacuating. Drink water and lots of it!
Try taking a digestive enzyme aid as directed by healthcare professional. An example of this would be Hypo-D from Nutri-West.
Our bodies will store 2-3 months worth of natural vitamin D. During the winter months it is important to supplement Vitamin D3. You must travel below the 35th parallel in order for the sun to have enough power to make vitamin D for your body. What a great excuse--The sun heads south and so should you!
Supplementing 5,000 units (125mcg)- 10,000 units (250mcg) of Vitamin D3 during the winter months is a good idea for most.
Getting a vitamin D lab is a great way to know how much to supplement.
1,25 Dihydroxycaldiferol is the specific lab level I prefer to check if given a choice.
Many times this is treated as "too much" acid and treatment is directed on shutting the acid production off. Although, many times, the cause is from foods that are irritating the gut, hidden infections, and/or nutritional deficiencies that do not let the body regulate acid production or digestion properly.
The best home remedy for general issues whether it be a headache, sore joint, or pain anywhere is a cold wet towel. Soak a towel in as cold of tap water as you can get, fold the towel up and set it on the area of discomfort for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes re-wet/cool the towel and repeat the process for another 20 minutes. This can be done as often or as much as you like, however, do a minimum of 40 consecutive total minutes.
When choosing to use ice instead of cool wet towel; Place ice over area for 10 minutes, then remove for 10 minutes, then place ice back on area for 10 minutes. Wait one hour, then repeat cycle. The idea is to pump new blood/nutrients into the area to increase healing.
Ketogenic Diet (not for general long term use) can be useful. Glucose (sugary foods) are fuel for cancer cells (anaerobic). Cancer Cells are anaerobic in nature and lose their ability to self-regulate (apoptosis) with lack of oxygen. Introducing more oxygen can be beneficial, hence, the importance of regular exercise and certain oxygen therapies.
